I said it last year on the blog, and I’ll say it again: In my opinion, there's nothing quite as chic as a fabulous one-piece swimsuit. While I still love a good bikini, as I inch closer to 30, I've started to feel most comfortable in a stylish one-piece. A really good one-piece is akin to putting on your favorite pair of Spanx. It sucks you in, holds you up, and smoothes you out! I also think fun patterns and details pop more on one-pieces than on bikinis. Again, I promise I'm not a bikini hater (a blog post on my favorite two-pieces for the season is coming!)
I spent quarantine at home in Florida and pretty much lived in my swimsuits for three months straight. If there is one thing I learned for certain about swimwear during that time, it's that buying quality swimwear you love (& taking proper care if it) is an excellent investment.
Swimsuits get hit with all the elements: Sun, sweat, sunscreen, chlorine, salt water, pool/beach side cocktails, and the list goes on! As a Florida girl, I’m a bit of a swimsuit addict. For years, I would buy swimsuits and, regardless of the cost, accept that they’d likely only last the season. In the last handful of years though, as I’ve started to spent a bit more on my swimsuits to ensure flattering fit and good support (late 20’s problems), I’ve started really taking care of my swimwear. I rinse my suits after each wear with clean water and a swimsuit cleanser like THIS one and let them properly hang dry instead of simply shoving them back into my swimsuit drawer or leaving them in a rumpled pile on the floor.
What a difference these two simple steps have made! The swimsuit doesn’t stretch, pill, or sag and the colors remain vibrant. I now keep these swimsuits for years instead of months which allows me to justify the more expensive pieces by dividing the cost by the number of wears (Whatever helps, right!? I basically spent $5 on that one designer swimsuit I bought in 2018. Win!)
Below, I've gathered some of my current favorite one-pieces. The brands of these suits check all my required boxes: high-quality, good fit, and include some variation of fun pattern/color/detailing. They are a bit on the spendy side (though a few are on major sale) but, as I said above, look at swimsuits as an investment piece.
Who else is fully on the one-piece trend? What are your favorite brands? Let me know in the comments!
I've linked all the swimsuits and you can either shop them HERE!
