December Reading List

Between Thanksgiving and prep for the holidays, November got away from from! In the craziness, the blog really took a back seat! But I'm back and re-focused with a trove of great posts that will launch over the next week (*hint, hint* amazing gift guides).

Being the bibliophile that I am, I figured what better way to jump back into regular posting on the blog than with my December reading list! With travel for Christmas coming up, and hopefully a few well-deserved days off, I hope you have sometime to pick up one of these fabulous titles!

As per usual, the titles are a mix of fiction and non-fiction, and the genres run the gambit. A couple of favorites that I cruised through were The Light We Lost and We Met in December. I must admit that, even though I read The Light We Lost in less than 24 hours and loved it, something about the books heroine really irked me (those of you who read it, please let me know your thoughts). Aside from that it was a fabulous love/loss story set in NYC (automatic brownie points) and spanning the course of a decade. I love these types of novels because, above all else, I'm a real sucker for character development!

We Met in December is set in London beginning during the holiday season. Again, major points for setting. It has quite a few similarities to One Day in December (even down to the cover art) and while it's also a bit predictable like that novel was, We Met in December is one of those perfect chic-lit romances to read on a flight or curl up with next to a fire whilst sipping a hot toddy.

In a departure from romantic fiction, I'm onto Catch and Kill by Rowan Farrow. The background of the novel has been so discussed in the media, but based on reviews the book really weaves everything together in clearer detail. After that, I'm back to sappy romances and onto Twice in a Blue Moon. What am I to do? The holiday season calls for feel good books!

Whether you heading home to the mountain, the plains, the desert, the city, or the beach for the holidays, here's hoping you have some wonderful free-time for a good book!

XOXO, Paige
