January Reading List

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

It was COLD in NYC today, which seemed like the perfect time to sit in front of the fire with my laptop and write about the books I'll be cuddling up with all of January. This month's list, as per usual, is a hodge podge. of fiction and non-fiction with a few self-help (-ish) and educational ones thrown in. It is January after all and everyone is all #newyearnewme.

Here I am, new year, same me reading away. In the last few days of December, I plowed through Buy-ology and Searching for Sylvia Lee. Very different, but both excellent. As both a blogger and a shopper, I found Buy-ology so interesting. I share the things I'm loving and the things I'm buying with my followers every day and I love better understanding the data and science behind why I buy and what would make all of you more likely to buy. In a broad sense, it helps me to tailor what I share with you.

My first two books of 2020 proper were A Spark of Light and The Peacock Emporium. I'm a big fan of Jodi Picoult and have read the majority of her books. She's only had a few books that I've not been crazy about, but A Spark of Light is excellent. The book is on a difficult and much debated topic, but I've always found Jodi Picoult handles these things with grace and you truly feel empathetic for all sides. So good! The Peacock Emporium falls into the historical fiction category that I love, and much about the novel felt very much in the same vein as a Beatriz Willams novel, whom I also LOVE!

I have some quick reading to do in order to make it through the rest of my list by the end of the first month of 2020! Luckily for me, the remaining titles are all getting a ton of great reviews and the stories are a nice mix to keep my on my toes! I'm particularly excited about Maybe You Should Talk to Someone and Tightrope.

I've had a number of readers tell me that their goal for 2020 is to read more and I'm here to help! You can't go wrong with any of the titles listed below!

Let me know if you pick up any of the books below and let's chat about them in the comments! Get reading!

XOXO, Paige
