My Haircare Must-Haves

l'll start this post by saying that I am in no way a pro-beauty blogger. That said, I’m both a product junkie and BIG into researching any and all products, beauty routines, make-up & hair stuff! I’m a hair novice. I’ve never been particularly great at doing my hair, nor do I have the patience for it. I have a lot of hair, but my hair is fine (oh to have those thick Kardashian locks!). My hair has a naturally wavy texture and growing up in Florida with the humidity and salt in the air made it so I rarely had to style it!

I moved to Minnesota for college and my hair did not like the dry winter weather. Gone we’re my pretty waves, and instead I had a head of flat, lifeless hair. Throughout college, I depended on friends to style my hair. My friend Karissa would come over to my college house to get ready for pretty much every night out and straightened my hair for literally four years! (Yes, I'm capable of straightening my hair, but it's just so much better to have someone else do it! See - no patience!)

That said, after graduating college and no longer having at my beck and call friends to style my hair, I had to find ways to make sure my hair didn't look like a complete mess. Enter my fool-proof and easy to use hair MUST-HAVES! If I am now capable of creating pretty curls, beach-y waves, and Dry Bar-esque blow-outs, then anyone is!

Below I go into detail about each product. You can shop them all HERE!

Let me know your hair care must-haves!

XOXO, Paige

- T3 Featherweight Folding Compact Hair Dryer: I bought this back in Spring of 2014 and, more than five years later, it is still working like a DREAM! I never travel without my own hair dryer because, oddly enough even with fine hair, my hair takes forever to dry and those hotel blow dryers just won't cut it. The "folding" and "compact" wording in the product title tells you all you need to know about what a breeze it is to pack and travel with this hair dryer. And it'll dry your hair in a snap! Couldn't recommend more.

- Aquis Lisse Luxe Hair Turban: I hate wrapping my hair in a full-size towel. Heavy on the head, hurts the neck and pulls the hair. As a child of the '90's and '00's, I was a big fan of the Turbie Twister! Who else remembers this genius invention?! I had a zebra print, a cheetah print, ALL the colors. The Aquiss Lisse Luxe Hair Turban is the grown-up, much improved version of the Turbie Twist. The Lisse Luxe Hair Turban boosts that it cuts drying time by 50 percent, improves the overall health of your hair for less frizz and breakage, more body, and more vibrant hair color.

- Mason Pearson Boars Hair Bristle Brush: Shiny, bouncy hair. It's certainly pricey, but an excellent investment; the product and it's cult following speaks for itself! Make sure you buy the cleaning brush for it and make sure to properly clean the brush of hair and product build-up to prolong the life of the brush! HERE is an article detailing the best ways to clean your brush!

- Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer: These things are ALL the rage, and there is a reason! My hair usually takes forever to dry and this definitely cuts down the dry time. I also feel like my hair feels less "fried" after I use it. It is said to protect hair from extreme heat while increadsing shine and smoothness while reducing frizz. Bravo, Dyson! I'm currently lusting after the Dyson Airwrap, that's the next item on my wish list!

- John Frieda Hot Air Brush: When I say I've been able to achieve Dry Bar worthy blowouts at home, it's all because of this product! I do not have the skills or coordination to use a round brush and a blow dryer at the same time. This product combines the two to make bouncy curls possible! I get my hair about 80% dry with a blow dryer and then go through my hair section by section using this tool like you would any round brush. So simple and easy and for a price that won't break the bank!

- The Beachwaver: THIS! THIS PRODUCT RIGHT HERE IS MY HOLY GRAIL. Sorry for the enthusiasm, but truly I don't think I've ever loved any hair or beauty product as much as I love my Beachwaver. A rotating curling iron with buttons labeled left and right (helping you curl your hair the right way, which I always messed up with traditional curling irons.) The Beachwaver is basically like kid's chopsticks. It helps you learn how to do it properly, but unlike how I moved on to adult chopsticks (and even though I'm now capable of using normal curling irons) I will never leave my Beachwaver behind! It's far faster to curl my hair using the Beachwaver and it gives the perfect, polished curly/wavy-esque hair! Run, don't walk, to buy one!

- Rose Quartz Crystal Energy Comb: So, Rose quartz is a symbol of loving energy and positivity. While that is all well and good and a super positive plus, the reason I love this comb is for its detangling and scalp stimulating capabilities. It may seem like a frivolous buy, I thought the same thing when I bought it, but it's actually become an every day use kind of item. All about stimulating those hair follicles in the hopes of waking up one day and magically having that thick hair I dream of!

- Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Shampoo/Deep Conditioning Mask: I love Briogeo products. I use the 'Don't Despair, Repair' products either together or separately at least 3 times a week. Moisturizes hair and repairs damage from color-treatment and hot tools.

- Bumble & Bumble Surf Styling Leave-In: The thing I hate most about products that help give you those beach waves is that they, more often than not, leave a gritty feel to your hair. And not the good grittiness you get from just swimming in the ocean, but the greasy, product build-up kind of grittiness. I love the Surf Styling Leave-In product because it helps create soft, beachy waves without the grit. On top of that, the leave-in gel-cream styler moisturizes, detangles, fights frizz, and provides UV-protection.

- Batiste Dry Shampoo: Nothing makes me as jealous as when someone tells me the can prolong their blowout for 3+ days simply by using dry shampoo. For years I was unable to to find a dry shampoo that worked for me. Either they didn't fight the grease, they weighed down my hair, or the product felt cake-y and made my scalp itch. I came home to Naples for Spring Break during grad school and my mom had left this Batiste dry shampoo on my make-up counter. I tried it that very night because I didn't have the time to wash my airplane hair before we left for dinner and BY GOLLY, IT WORKED! I'm still not someone who can prolong a blowout 3+ days, but I can get a good 36 hours with the help of Batiste - life changing!

- Briogeo Be Gentle Be Kind Shampoo: Finding a good everyday shampoo is like striking gold. You want something that is potent enough to actually clean your hair, but not so heavy that it weighs it down/makes it greasy. The Be Gentle Be Kind shampoo is my go-to. It strikes the perfect balance between cleaning and moisturizing my hair without weighing it down and leaving to much product build up! An added plus? It smells amazing! They just released a Banana & Coconut scent and I'm LOVING it. My hair smells like a tropical banana Laffy Taffy, which in my book is a win!

- Bumble & Bumble All-Style Blowdry: This has been in my hair arsenal for nearly seven years. The cream fights frizz, protects against heat damage, and has invisible and microfine oil-absorbing powders that help add body, shine, and movement. It is formulated to prolong the life of your blow-dry style from the start and it suitable for healthy, fine, and even oil-prone hair. I use it pretty much every single day, whether I plan to curl, straighten, round-brush or even just let me hair air-dry.

- Briogeo Scalp Revival Shampoo & Conditioner: I'm someone who suffers from an itchy scalp. This is particularly true if I've been using a lot of products in my hair. The charcoal, peppermint oil, and coconut oil ingredients detoxifies, exfoliates, and balances the scalp for optimal scalp health. The products micro-exfoliate the scalp, which helps to remove buildup, soothe itchiness, irritation, and flakiness, and provide hydration to the scalp to prevent dryness. I use this once a week, usually on a Sunday or Monday, to start my scalp off on the right foot (that saying doesn't really work in this context, but we'll roll with it!) and not only does my scalp feel so much better, I also feel like my other hair products work better with a fresh scalp!
